Phillip P. Smith

Phillip P. Smith was a long time community advocate who cherished Broward County as his home for the past 50 years. An avid golfer, he was very proud of The Enclave’s manicured open spaces, four-acre passive park, jogging trail and all of the comforts this special community brings to future residents.

During his lifetime, Mr. Smith received numerous awards for his leadership including The Sun Sentinel Excalibur Award for large business, Nova Southeastern University’s Entrepreneur of the Year, Northwood University’s Outstanding Business Leader, Leadership Broward’s Leader of the Year, Junior Achievement’s Business Leader Award.  Mr. Smith was actively involved in the community through his work with the Humane Society of Broward County, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, American Cancer Society, Holy Cross Hospital, Northwood University, Nova Southeastern University, Florida Atlantic University, Orange Bowl Committee and Junior Achievement.

Mr. Smith was raised in South Florida, attended Chaminade High School and graduated from Florida Atlantic University, where he majored in Finance and Business Administration.

Phillip P. Smith leaves behind a legacy of enriching the community through his business and charitable endeavors, and will forever be missed.

Relevant Project History

Amaray Las Olas – Slated for completion in Spring 2016, Amaray Las Olas is the newest and most luxurious apartment community to rise in downtown Fort Lauderdale. Boasting five-star luxury amenities, the 254-unit, 30-story high-rise is co-developed by Stiles and The Rockefeller Group, offers a full range of distinctive amenities designed to provide a sophisticated urban living experience in South Florida. Located at 215 NE 8th Avenue on the corner of NE 2nd Street and 8th Avenue, the community caters to the most discerning residents with more than 26 unique floor plans. Each apartment unfolds an effortless flow between entertainment kitchens and outdoor spaces, and floor-to-ceiling windows allow light to flood in and showcase the best views around—with Las Olas below, the ocean beyond, and Miami’s skyline in the distance.

Twelve|Twelve - Co-developed by Stiles and Hensler Development Group, Twelve|Twelve is a national Pillar award-winning 23-story luxury condominium rising from the intersection of 12th Avenue South and Laurel Street in the Gulch neighborhood of downtown Nashville, TN. Originally developed as an ultra-luxury rental apartment, the LEED-certified project was converted to a condominium during construction. It is one of the most luxurious developments constructed in the Southeast U.S. since 2010.

One Plantation A luxury residential development comprising two 12-story towers with 321 rental apartment units. Located at the northwest corner of University Drive and Interstate 595 in Plantation, Florida, the project includes one-, two-, and three-bedroom residences, a 15,000-square foot clubhouse with state-of-the-art amenities, a four-story parking garage, and a sports pavilion. The project was completed in 2013 and achieved 99% occupancy within eight months after completion of construction, at the highest per-square-foot rents in the immediate submarket. One Plantation achieved LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, the first luxury multifamily community in Broward County to do so.

Sunrise Harbor Located on Florida's Intracoastal waterway in Fort Lauderdale, Sunrise Harbor is a national Pillar award-winning an 800,000 square foot, twin 16-story condominium complex featuring 352 luxury apartment units and 16 guest suites. Built in 2000, the project comprises a 270,000-square foot parking garage and 8,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space.

350 Las Olas Place Built in 2005, 350 Las Olas Place is located in the heart of Fort Lauderdale's central business district and just steps from the contemporary Las Olas Boulevard. This 163-unit, 30-story luxury condominium comprises a four-level parking garage and ground floor retail totaling 400,000 square feet. Amenities include a private rooftop social room, a rooftop infinity-edge pool and health club, an executive business center with conference facilities, and a high-tech security system.
